A Review on the Reality and Promises of Optical Computing

The science of using optics and related technologies together to provide effective, efficient, and fast computing is called optical computing. The hybrid combination of traditional computing design with some special components that can deliver operation in optical mode is defined as optical computing. Optical computers are capable to transform the image by data encoding. This paper includes the topic about the architecture of optical computing including optical computing hardware, and some optical computing efficiency. This paper also gives a brief about the analogue and digital optical computing. While applying the photonic to the digital computing the interconnection among logic gates can be crossover and that makes the logic gates to easily perform their task in free space. The current implementation and future scope of the optical computing will be discussed in this report.
